Base Auckland MAC

The BAMAC has been established with the aim of promoting model aircraft building and the operation there of, amongst military members. Because the club members are in the military, we have been granted use of Defence Force land and airspace at the Whenuapai airfield when there are no military operations taking place. One of the conditions is that the club abide to the following Defence Force Order regarding membership.

Membership of the Club is open to the following personnel:

a. All current serving RNZAF personnel and their dependants,

b. Personnel of other New Zealand Armed Forces serving or accommodated at RNZAF Base Auckland and their dependants,

c. Commonwealth or allied service personnel serving or accommodated at RNZAF Base Auckland and their dependants,

d. Civilians employed or accommodated at RNZAF Base Auckland and their dependants,

e. Personnel with previous service in the NZDF.

Each Club member is entitled to invite one guest to fly models on Base. The guest MUST be a current financial NZMAA member and have completed the proficiency test for their model type to fly their model on Base. The alternative is to fly via a buddy box with a Club instructor. This is for insurance purposes as the Club flying site is very close to C-130 and P-3 aircraft.
